Who We Are
Community Alliance Church is an intergenerational, multicultural church serving West Contra Costa County. We are located in San Pablo and serve as a spiritual home for families across Richmond, Pinole, El Sobrante, and Hercules.
We are ordinary people who have experienced the life-changing grace of Jesus. Each Sunday, we gather for worship, practical Bible teaching, and real relationships in both English and Spanish. Whether you are joining our English-speaking services or our Spanish-speaking congregation, our goal is to help you connect with God and take your next step in following Jesus alongside others in our community.
Why We Exist
Our mission is to help you experience a transformative relationship with God, so you can become an ambassador of hope in your home, neighborhood, and among the nations.
In plain terms: we want people to know Jesus, grow as disciples, and live on mission—right where they already are.
Right now, that mission looks like this:
- Building intergenerational faith. We help kids, students, parents, and grandparents grow together so faith gets lived at home, not just attended on Sundays—especially among families in San Pablo, Pinole, and Richmond.
- Becoming a bilingual church family. Because West County is multilingual, we’re working toward a Spanish-speaking congregation and stronger Spanish-language ministry so more of our neighbors can worship, belong, and be discipled in their heart language.
- Serving our neighbors, reaching the nations. We practice the way of Jesus through prayer, compassion, and everyday witness in West Contra Costa County, while partnering in God’s global mission beyond our local cities.
Our Beliefs
Our Statement of Faith summarizes the core Christian beliefs that shape who we are, what we teach, and how we live. It keeps us centered on Jesus Christ and grounded in the Bible as God’s Word. As a church in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, we affirm historic Christian doctrine and build our preaching, discipleship, and ministry on it.
The Bible
The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for our salvation. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice (2 Pet. 1:20–21; 2 Tim. 3:15–17).
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the true God and true man (Phil. 2:6–11). He was sent by the Father (John 20:21), conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary (Luke 1:34–38). He died on the cross, the Just for the unjust (1 Pet. 3:18), as a substitutionary sacrifice (Heb. 2:9), and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (Rom. 5:9). He rose from the dead according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3–4). He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest (Heb. 8:1). He will come again to establish His Kingdom of righteousness and peace (Isa. 9:6–7).
Salvation from Sin
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all people (1 John 2:2). Those who repent and believe in Him are justified by grace through faith (Rom. 3:21–24), born again of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:4–7), delivered from the dominion of darkness, transferred into the Kingdom of God’s Son (Col. 1:13), granted the gift of eternal life, and adopted as the children of God (Rom. 8:14–16; John 1:12).
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a divine person (John 14:16–18), sent to indwell, guide, teach, gift, empower, and bear His fruit in every believer (John 16:13; 1 Cor. 12:4, 11; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22–23). He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:7–11).
The Church
The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church (Ephesians 1:22–23), which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:19–20). The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:41-47).
God
There is one God (Deut. 6:4), Creator of all things (Rev. 4:11), who is infinitely perfect (Matt. 5:48), existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).
Humanity and Sin
Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God: (Genesis 1:27) he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature (Romans 3:23), are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:20-23). The portion of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment (Revelation 21:8); and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss (Revelation 21:1-4).
Sanctification
It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly (1 Thessalonians 5:23), being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service (Acts 1:8). This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion (Romans 6:1–14).
Healing
Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the whole person (Isa. 53:4–5; Matt. 8:16–17). Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures (James 5:13–16) as privileges for the Church in this present age (Acts 4:30).
Resurrection
There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life (1 Corinthians 15:20–23); for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment (John 5:28–29).
Second Coming
The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent (Hebrews 10:37) and will be personal, visible, and premillennial (Luke 21:27). This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service (Titus 2:11-14).

Becoming the People God Calls Us to Be
Following Jesus isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being honest about real life, serious about Jesus, and present for our neighbors. We live this out through three core values:
Real
We are honest about our lives. As we grow to become like Jesus, we share both our struggles and our victories. You can show up exactly as you are without the pressure to wear a mask. This is a place where you’ll be met with grace, not shame.
Faithful
We are fueled by gratitude, not guilt. We follow Christ because of what He has already done for us, letting a genuine relationship with God lead the way. We want our obedience to be a joyful response to His love, not an attempt to earn it.
Compassionate
We put God’s love into action—locally and globally. As an intergenerational church family, we care for our neighbors across Richmond, San Pablo, and Pinole. This includes building a Spanish-speaking congregation to serve our multilingual community and partnering with God’s global mission to bring hope and the gospel to the nations.

We believe real impact happens when every person is equipped to live out their faith daily. Our focus is on helping you follow Jesus with your whole life through a simple path: Excite, Engage, and Equip. This keeps us centered on Jesus’ mission to bring hope and transformation to our community and the world.
Excite
We help you discover the life-changing hope of Jesus. Our goal is to point you toward the gospel through worship and teaching that is both biblical and practical. When you see who Jesus really is, it changes your perspective on everything else.
Engage
We invite you to join a community on mission. Faith isn’t meant to be lived alone. We help you move from attending to belonging by connecting you with others across West Contra Costa County through service and shared life.
Equip
We provide the tools to live your faith every day. Through biblical teaching, Community Groups, and practical workshops, we help you sharpen your unique gifts. Our goal is to see you take what you learn on Sunday and live it out Monday through Saturday—making a difference right where you are.

Our Global Family
Community Alliance Church is part of a worldwide family of churches known as the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). We are united by a shared passion to bring All of Jesus to All the World.
Our Roots
The C&MA began in the late 1800s as a missionary movement of believers passionate about knowing Jesus deeply and making Him known to the world. Our founder, A.B. Simpson, was a pastor burdened to reach the least-reached and overlooked. He built the Alliance on a vision of the Fourfold Gospel: Jesus as our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. This message remains the heartbeat of our mission today.
Our Reach
The Alliance mission starts in the local church. Today, we are part of a diverse family of 2,000 churches across the U.S. that worships in 38 languages and dialects. We are focused on gospel-centered discipleship and Spirit-empowered living in every community we serve.
United with Alliance partners and international workers in 70 countries, we are driven by one clear goal: All of Jesus for All the World.
Alliance Missions
As part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, we believe every follower of Jesus has a role in bringing the gospel to the whole world. Through Alliance Missions, we send and support workers in least-reached and underserved communities to share Christ’s love through church planting, compassion, and disciple-making.
This global work is carried out through four primary areas:
- aXcess: Proclaiming the gospel and multiplying faith communities. These workers focus on long-term disciple-making among the least-reached, with a commitment to seeing healthy, reproducing churches take root where access to Jesus is limited.
- CAMA Services: Providing relief and community development. CAMA workers bring practical help and the love of Jesus to communities impacted by poverty, disaster, and conflict, helping people and communities recover and rebuild.
- Marketplace Ministries: Deploying professionals as a disciple-making presence. Doctors, engineers, and business professionals use their expertise to live out the gospel, often serving in restricted or hard-to-access contexts where traditional pathways are limited.
- Envision: Identifying and developing missional leaders. Envision provides immersive ministry experiences through short-term trips, internships, and mentoring, helping people discover their role in God’s global story and develop as leaders on mission.
Together, these ministries work toward one mission: seeing people of every nation, tribe, and language experience the hope of Jesus.
